Effectiveness of Psycho-Educational Intervention of Maher Crystallized intelligence on Increasing Socio-Cultural Intelligence in Elementary Second Period Students of Tehran City

Purpose: Improving and promoting socio-cultural intelligence in elementary students can improve their academic and non-academic status. As a result, the present research was conducted with the aimed of determine the effectiveness of the psycho-educational intervention of Maher crystallized intelligence on increasing socio-cultural intelligence in elementary second period students.Methodology: This research was a quasi-experimental with a pre-test, post-test, and two-month follow-up design with a control group. The research population was all elementary second period students of Tehran city in the 2023-2024 academic years, which number of 40 students, were selected as samples with using a staged cluster sampling method and were replaced in two equal groups. The experimental group received 14 sessions of 90 minute the psycho-educational intervention of Maher crystallized intelligence and during this period the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were collected with using the socio-cultural intelligence subscale in the Maher Multifunctional Fluid Intelligence Test (Saadatee Shamir & Zahatkesh, 2022) and analyzed with using by methods of chi-square, mixed variance analysis and Bonferroni post hoc test in SPSS version 27 software.Findings: The findings of this research showed that the psycho-educational intervention of Maher crystallized intelligence significantly increased all six components of socio-cultural intelligence, including the intelligences of cultural, economic, social, spiritual, managerial and philosophical in elementary second period students and the results were maintained at the two-month follow-up stage (P<0.05).Conclusion: According to the aforementioned results, can be used the psycho-educational intervention of Maher crystallized intelligence to increase socio-cultural intelligence in elementary second period students.
