Validation of the Managerial Competencies Model Based on Total Quality Management Indicators of Secondary School Principals in DhiQar Province, Iraq

Purpose: The managerial competencies of school principals play an effective role in improving the condition of schools. Therefore, the aim of this researcg was validation of the managerial competencies model based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals in DhiQar province, Iraq.
Methodology: This research was a descriptive from type of correlation. The research population was all secondary school principals in DhiQar province, Iraq in 2024-2025 academic years, which 290 people of them were selected as samples using available sampling method. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire of managerial competencies based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals (84 items) and analyzed using exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling in SPSS-26 and AMOS-23 software.
Findings: The findings of this study showed that the managerial competencies based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals had 87 items and 28 components in 7 dimensions including employee empowerment, resource management, learning process improvement, stakeholder satisfaction, innovation in management, performance evaluation, and challenges of total quality management; so that the factor loading of all dimensions and components was higher than 0.30 and the Cronbach's alpha reliability of all of them were calculated to be higher than 0.70. Other findings of the research showed that the managerial competencies model based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals had a good fit and that the managerial competencies based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals on each of the dimensions and each of the dimensions on the relevant components had a significant effect (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, the managerial competencies model based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals had sufficient validity. As a result, planning to improve and promote managerial competencies based on total quality management indicators of secondary school principals through the identified dimensions and components in this study is necessary and essential.
