Predicting Job Attachment based on Attachment Styles and Moral Intelligence with the Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy (Case Study: Basij Organization of Guilds, Bazaars, and Economic Activists of Greater Tehran)

Abstract

Purpose: Job attachment plays an effective role in the growth and promotion of job status and creating a competitive advantage for the organization. Therefore, the aim of this research was predicting job attachment based on attachment styles and moral intelligence with the mediating role of self-efficacy.

Methodology: This study was a cross-sectional from type of correlation. The population of the present research was all employees of the Basij Organization of Guilds, Bazaars, and Economic Activists of Greater Tehran in 2025 year with number 3000 people. The sample size based on Stevens' suggestion was determined 200 people, and these people due to the dispersion of the research population were selected using the available sampling method. The instruments of this study included the attachment styles questionnaire (Collins and Read, 1990), moral intelligence questionnaire (Lennick & Kiel, 2005), self-efficacy scale (Sherer et al., 1982), and job attachment questionnaire (Schaufeli, 2015). The data of the present study were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficients and structural equation modeling in SPSS-26 and Lisrel-8 software.

Findings: The results of this study showed that the model of predicting job attachment based on attachment styles and moral intelligence with the mediating role of self-efficacy had a good fit. Also, the direct effect of secure attachment and moral intelligence on self-efficacy was positive and significant, avoidant attachment and ambivalent/anxious attachment on self-efficacy was negative and significant, secure attachment, moral intelligence and self-efficacy on job attachment was positive and significant, and avoidant attachment and ambivalent/anxious attachment on job attachment was negative and significant (P<0.05). In addition, the indirect effect of secure attachment and moral intelligence with the mediating of self-efficacy on job attachment was positive and significant, and avoidant attachment and ambivalent/anxious attachment with the mediating of self-efficacy on job attachment was negative and significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, to improve job attachment, should be conducted via educational workshops to improve and promote secure attachment, moral intelligence and self-efficacy, and to reduce avoidant attachment and ambivalent/anxious attachment.
