Investigating Factors Influencing the Development of Creative Skills in Art Education Teachers in Iraq

Purpose: This study aims to examine the factors influencing the development of creative skills in art education teachers in Iraq. Methodology: From a goal perspective, this research is an applied-developmental study, and in terms of data collection, it is a non-experimental (descriptive) study. The statistical population includes all art education teachers in Iraq. The sample size was calculated using Cohen's (1992) power analysis rule and the G*Power software. At a 95% confidence level, with an effect size of 0.15 and a power of 80%, the sample size was estimated to be 163 participants. The analysis of the collected data was performed using SPSS and Smart PLS statistical software. Findings: The results showed that the strategy for developing creative skills had an impact on student creativity, teacher creativity, and fostering creative thinking. Furthermore, the educational system's culture was found to influence the strategy for developing creative skills. Conclusion: The findings also revealed that ethical and professional skills, as well as problem-solving skills, significantly influenced creative skills. Ultimately, creative skills, cognitive competencies, and emotional competencies were found to impact the strategy for developing creative skills.
