Investigating the Components of Jihad of Explanation in Nahjul-Balagha to Determine the Role of the Education System in Its Realization

Purpose: This study aims to identify the components of Jihad of Explanation in Nahjul-Balagha and to clarify the role of the education system in its effective realization in contemporary society.
Methodology: This research is theoretical–fundamental in purpose and employs a descriptive–analytical and inferential methodology. Data were collected through documentary analysis and qualitative content analysis of religious texts, particularly Nahjul-Balagha. Relevant sermons, letters, and aphorisms were extracted, coded, and categorized based on epistemological, explanatory, and educational themes. The data were then analyzed using philosophical and educational frameworks, leading to the development of a conceptual model linking Alid epistemology, Jihad of Explanation, and the education system.
Findings: The findings indicate that Nahjul-Balagha provides an epistemological foundation for Jihad of Explanation through its emphasis on rationality, innate disposition, faith, intuitive insight, and beneficial knowledge. Core components include enlightenment and awareness-building, combating distortion, defending truth, moral guidance, exposing ignorance and materialism, and articulating justice-oriented governance principles. Furthermore, results suggest that the realization of Jihad of Explanation remains incomplete without a purposeful and awareness-oriented education system, and that cultivating insightful, critical, and truth-seeking individuals is essential for confronting cognitive warfare and intellectual deviation.
Conclusion: The study concludes that Jihad of Explanation in Nahjul-Balagha is grounded in profound epistemological principles and carries significant social and educational implications, requiring a restructured education system aligned with Alid teachings to nurture an aware, analytical, and truth-oriented generation.
