Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of participatory classroom management on academic participation and classroom climate among elementary school students.

Methodology: A quantitative correlational design was employed. The population consisted of elementary school students from public schools, from whom a random sample was selected. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires on participatory classroom management and classroom climate, and analyzed through inferential statistical tests.

Findings: Statistical analyses revealed a significant positive effect of participatory classroom management on students’ academic participation. A meaningful relationship was also found between participatory management and a positive socio-emotional classroom climate. Participatory management significantly predicted variance in academic participation.

Conclusion: The findings indicate that participatory classroom management enhances classroom interactions, fosters students’ sense of belonging, and promotes active engagement in learning processes. This approach can be considered an effective educational strategy in elementary education.
