Providing a Paradigmatic Model for Leisure Enrichment with an Emphasis on Recreational Sports Activities

Abstract

rpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of proposing a paradigmatic model for leisure enrichment with a focus on recreational sports activities. Methodology: This research is qualitative in nature, exploratory in orientation, and categorized as applied research following the Glaserian grounded theory approach. The statistical population consisted of experts in the field of sports leisure priorities, university officials and administrators, faculty members in sociology and social sciences, managers of the Federation of Public Sports, and organizations related to recreational public sports. The sampling method employed was purposive and snowball sampling, and theoretical saturation was achieved after conducting 17 in-depth interviews. The data collection tool in the qualitative section was a semi-structured interview. For data analysis, coding based on the Strauss and Corbin method was performed using MAXQDA software. Findings: Based on the results of axial coding and shared concepts across the targeted categories, 14 categories were identified, namely: individual characteristics, personal status, sports facilities, scenic attractions, access to sports infrastructure, collective motivators, individual motivators, online clubs, effective human resources, responsibilities of governing organizations, in-person reinforcers, information providers, psychological skills, and psychological stimuli. These were identified within the framework of individual factors, environmental factors, psychological factors, motivational factors, sports-related factors, and social factors. Conclusion: The findings of this study will be applicable for policymaking and strategic planning aimed at enhancing leisure enrichment with an emphasis on sports activities.
