Peer-Review Process

The articles submitted by the respected authors are first briefly reviewed by the specialized secretary of the journal and if the principles of writing scientific journals are observed, they will be discussed in the editorial board of the journal. This process takes a maximum of 10 days.
If the article is approved by the majority of the editorial board, the article will be sent for review. At this stage, the author will be notified about the approval of sending the article to the referee
After the article is submitted to Peer Review Double Blind by at least two judges, it takes about 1 to 3 months for the arbitration process to be completed and the final result to be announced to the authors.
Authors whose articles are to be reviewed must make the necessary corrections and submit a revised version of the article within 15 days. If the amendments are approved by the judges and the editorial board, the article will be sent for scientific and literary editing. At this stage, authors may also be asked to make minor changes to the article.

Ethical Consideration for Reviewers
  • Confidentiality of article information must be observed in all areas. The article review process is to be done anonymously.
  • Reviewers should judge articles at the appropriate time and assist the editorial team in deciding whether or not to accept the article.
  • The referees' suggestions regarding the published articles should be submitted as judging forms and in the comment section for the author and editor.
  • Reviewers should refrain from judging articles with conflicts of interest and report any such conflicts as soon as possible.
  • Reviewers' judgments about the quality and content of articles should be based on professional and objective opinions.

The policy of the Sociology of Education journal regarding judging and review by peers

  1. The necessary condition for publishing or not publishing any article is receiving two positive judgments or two negative judgments. The editor and specialized editors of your journal can be the referees.
  2. A third review will be required whenever the editor receives a positive or negative review for an article.
  3. The article that is submitted to the journal for the second time must go through all the review and judging stages again. For the second time, a submission article refers to an article that the journal has already rejected, and the author has revised and revised it and resubmitted it to the journal. In this case, the editor can send the article to the previous referees or the specialized secretary or select new referees. For an article to be judged for the second time, the author must have revised it based on the opinions of previous referees.
  4. A conditional article (under review) is an article that has received two positive reviews and has been accepted on the condition that the recommended revisions are applied and the amended article is referred to the journal office for review and final review. The conditional article can be considered accepted, provided that a positive judgment is made by the editor or previous referees. The article will need two positive judgments for final acceptance if this single judgment is negative. The article under review will be rejected if the author has not corrected and revised the article as requested by the judges, new content has been added to it that is not considered acceptable quality, or new errors and defects have been included in it. The editor must treat the authors of rejected articles or notes as being re-judged appropriately.
  5. If an article is considered outside the journal's scope, is sub-standard in terms of structure, or its content is not professionally appropriate, the article can not be accepted for review and judgment. In this case, the article must be returned to the author with a letter stating the reasons for not accepting the article.
  6. The number of positive or negative judgments for accepting or rejecting technical notes is similar to the provisions of the article. In general, a single policy applies to articles and technical notes.
  7. The names of the judges are not disclosed to the authors, so it is better to avoid writing the judges' opinions manually, if possible, to prevent the disclosure of the referee's identity through his signature. The referee papers must be sent to the journal office with the referee's name and signature, and it is the duty of the journal experts to delete the referee's name before sending it to the author.
  8. The content of the editor's note and the interview in the journal is within the scope of the editor's responsibility unless he delegates his responsibility to another person.
  9. Judging articles in this journal is done by Peer Review Double Blind by at least two judges.
